Kateryna Maksymchuk spent a week in Strasbourg at the seminar “Successful appeal to ECHR: from theory to practice”. The event was very interesting and useful both from theoretical and practical point of view. Katerina as the representative of Pavlenko Legal Group used a unique chance to get insider information on the principles of Convention interpretation by the Court, learn the main aspects in order to successfully submit the complaints to ECHR.

The most important aspects of the seminar were the following:

• working with real cases being in the proceeding of the Court;
• analyzing the main legal positions of ECHR;
• reviewing the decisions submitted to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for execution.

The knowledge gained at the seminar are essential for working with national judicial bodies, because ECHR practice is repeatedly used in connection with the judicial reform
